Abstract

The article reports on a survey of marketing research firms which use computer based data collection operations, including software for Internet surveys. The survey found that a majority of firms citing falling response rates as the main challenge facing the marketing research industry. Other problems cited were so-called "professional" survey respondents whose presence taints data and higher costs of conducting effective research.
